JJ Dakota Rose

Dakota belongs to one of our boarders who allows us to use her in lessons as we need her. She came to us in 2005, and she has never let us down. The first day that we rode her, she had not been ridden in over 6 months, was hauled over 2 hours in a blizzard to a facility where she had never been at, unloaded in almost 2 feet of snow, saddled and ridden in an indoor with mirrors all around it, a huge pile of shavings, and dogs and cats running around. She never looked at anything, not once. So, we decided that she was the PERFECT first horse as Arabians do not get any better than that.

Dakota is a 1994 black bay Arabian mare who stands 15.1 hands tall. She is absolutely gorgeous being a Desperado V daughter out of a polish and crabbet bred dam. She was trained by Michele Blackwell in western pleasure. Dakota has won numerous awards on all levels in western pleasure and stock seat equitation (including in walk/jog classes).

Her 2004 filly by Besson Carol is a halter supreme filly being sold to South America as a weanling. She has gone on to win Scottsdale, Regional, US National, and Foreign National awards and honors.

Dakota is available for sale to the right home as a lesson horse, pleasure horse, show horse, or broodmare. She has many more foals left in her for future years and will pay for herself through her production. She is reasonably priced for a quick sale as the owners have lost interest in the horses due to a new baby on the way.

We have bumped Dakota up to hunter pleasure, dressage, and sport horse where she is absolutely loving it. She has got a great forward trot and canter now that she has figured out that she can go forward. It would be easy to pull her back down to western if so desired.
