She has been shown throughout Region 12 including several championships, reserves, and wins in Working Hunter, Hunter Hack, Hunter Pleasure, and Dressage in Open, ATR, and JTR. She has also been shown in 4-H, local, schooling, and other shows.

Sparkles best event is Jumpers. She has won several Gambler’s Choice classes through 3’. She has never refused a fence. If you point her to a fence, she is going over it.

She would also excel in Pony Club (games, showjumping, or three day), Eventing, Sport Horse, Combined Training, and related disciplines. These events may be Open shows OR Arabian/Half-Arabian shows. Sparkles is so FANCY that she is perfect for Class A and AA shows even for leadliners. She started off her career at two years old with her two year old owner in leadline for four years while the trainers were showing her in performance classes.

When you want her to be she is fast- very fast. The higher she jumps the more careful she is.

Because of her owner playing select sports, she has not had the time to show and work with her. She has also gotten too tall for this pony now (she is ten and over 5’ 6” tall at this time). When she is able to ride, she prefers the 16 hand show horses that we have over Sparkles- unless it is jumping that day/show and then Sparkles it is. This owner has had her since both of them were two years old, so for 8 years now. They have had a wonderful friendship and have learned many things from one another. Sparkles has ALWAYS kept her owner safe and out of trouble, and has always put herself in the right spot for the fences.

Sparkles is also Clicker Trained and with a quick refresher she will be bowing, counting, nodding, and doing many other tricks. Sparkles is EXTREMELY smart and loves to learn.

Sparkles has been used in our lesson program for intermediate and advanced riders. She has been shown by her owner, trainers at our farm, and by our lesson students (ages 8 through adult).

Lead changes are automatic~ she will even do changes in a straight line. Shoulders in, Haunches in, Advanced Lateral work- you name it she does it. All of our students no matter what their riding ability is can keep her framed up with ease. Sparkles also has been trained for and shown in the Sport Horse Show Hack classes thus she has definite collected, medium, and extended walk, trot, and canter, as well as, a hand gallop.

She is easy to bring back after galloping her between fences. She is not suited as a cross rails or low hunter as her specialty is higher fences. I would not recommend her for anything under the 2’6” divisions. In 2005, Sparkles was training 4’ fences and higher and showing in 3’6” to 3’9” classes. She may be small but she has a big jump.

Because of all of her training and her willingness, she would make an excellent over fences equitation horse. She has a normal horse stride instead of a pony stride, and she does NOT move like a pony in anyway. She is a VERY FLASHY mover often receiving numerous comments from judges on the way that she goes.

She is ready to go show NOW! No need to train her for months and months to prepare for a show. Load her up in the trailer and go. All ground manners are great- no problems with trailering (jumps right into the trailer without a person assisting her), clipping (including body and ears with no twitch), veterinarian, grooming, and more.

Sparkles is available for $8,000 obo. She must be sold as quickly as possible as the owner’s select travel team will be starting at the first of December. ALL REASONABLE OFFERS ARE CONSIDERED. She will remain in our lesson program until the date of sale.

Sparkles looks like a very fancy Welsh Pony, but she is a Half Quarter Horse and Half Arabian. She is a registered Half Arabian which allows for her to show in Arabian/Half-Arabian shows as well as open shows on all levels. Eligible for Quarab registration.
